1. Customs Clearance Methods for Exhibits

โ‘  Bonded Clearance

โ€ข
This method allows for simplified customs clearance without formal import clearance, under the condition that the items are either re-exported after the exhibition or, if sold domestically, undergo storage in a bonded warehouse followed by formal import clearance procedures.
โ€ข
During the exhibition, the Secretariat will arrange a bonded area for exhibitors with bonded exhibits. Exhibitors must report the details of their bonded items to the Secretariat through the InterBattery website by January 17,2025.

โ‘ก No-Draft Clearance

โ€ข
Consumables exhibited at the show qualify if each item is priced at US $5 or less and the total quantity and value fall within a range deemed acceptable by customs.

โ‘ข Re-Export Clearance

โ€ข
A method where importers declare to customs that they will re-export the items within a specified period (requires a set amount of collateral).
ย Key Features (Requires Collateral)
โ—ฆ
Applicable when the items are not placed in a bonded area (e.g., hotels, general events).
โ—ฆ
Used when exhibits need to remain in the country for a set period for demonstration or when requested by buyers after the exhibition.
โ—ฆ
Customs inspection occurs at a bonded warehouse designated by the relevant customs office (differs from bonded clearance), with no duty imposed.
ย Types of Collateral
โ—ฆ
Cash Collateral: Set according to the tax amount.
โ—ฆ
Bank Guarantee: Provided if the bank guarantees payment.
โ—ฆ
Tax Payment Insurance: A tax payment guarantee insurance certificate is issued.
Note: The re-export promise must be honored within the specified period to avoid fines.

โ‘ฃ ATA CARNET

โ€ข
A certified document recognized through government agreements.
ย Key Features
โ—ฆ
Used when a bonded area is not designated, under the condition that items are re-exported.
โ—ฆ
Applicable when an importer needs additional setup work at a subsidiary before the exhibition begins.
โ—ฆ
The validity period is as stated on the ATA Carnet document.
